Reintroducing the adidas Tekkira Cup: A Court-Inspired Skate Shoe
The adidas Skateboarding Tekkira Cup had some fanfare surrounding them when they first arrived at our doorstep and as times gone by and countless pairs have been tried by the Workers and Lurkers we’re really starting to be sold on the skate shoe from the German Juggernaut.
On paper, it’s a shoe inspired by late ‘90s adidas running and early ‘00s court silhouettes. In practice, it’s a tech-heavy skate shoe built for some proper use. The adidas Tekkira come in a few different configurations but generally the uppers are made of leather, suede and mesh so their pretty bob-on when it comes to durability and breathability. On top of that, the Tekkira Cup features so highly-useful dual layer protection in the key areas so endless frontside flips attempts down MEN Ten should be a go. And if you’re taking these to such heights adidas’s trusty lightmotion cushioning will definitely come in handy and lucky enough for you these are chock-full of the stuff – well, in the heels where it’s pretty useful.
All in all we’d say the adidas Tekkira Cup is the best of both worlds – modern comforts combined with timeless court aesthetics.
Not happy with just reviewing the shoes by staring at them in the box, the Workers and Lurkers took ‘em for a spin and put ‘em through its paces in a wear test. The verdict? The Tekkira skates as good as it looks. Just look at Reuben’s Nollie Heel on the replica BBC Banks! Surely that’s proof enough.
But seriously speaking everyone was onboard with the Tekkira. Responsive cushioning, solid flick, and way more boardfeel than you’d expect from a shoe that looks like it’s stepped straight out of a 2002 tennis club.
Now, adidas have treated the Tekkira Cup to some fresh colourways – and we’ve got two of them lined up, ready to hit your proverbial shopping baskets.
We have plenty of good skate shoes to try here at NOTE but if you’re in the market, are a fan of the three stripes and like to split your time between the different courts at Platts, the adidas Tekkira Cup skate shoes are 100% worth a try.
