Nancy Has Landed at NOTE

Any skate brand whose website is nancysucks.com is off to a belter in our books and that's before we even take a look at the clobber on offer. They've been on our radar for a while but Nancy has now hit the NOTE roster and the london outfit has landed with a serious drop of apparel.

Who's Behind It

Nancy was started in 2019 by Sam Hughes, a long-standing face in the London scene who's put in years behind the counter at Supreme's london shop, where he's now head honcho behind the helm. It began as something to fill a bit of spare time. Since then it has grown into a fully fledged skate brand, and we're stoked to have it on the rails at NOTE

The reference points are grunge, punk, the DIY youth culture of the 80s, a healthy respect for a good bootleg and his own early years skating. Vintage horror flicks and old cartoons turn up in the graphics too. Put all that in a blender and you get loud colours, irreverent graphics and the general sense that someone's been let loose in the screen-printing room unsupervised - the result being a pleasure for the ole' peepers.

We're not going to unpack the title too much but what we will say is that Nancy's 2022 video is dead good and well worth a watch. It was made by Florentin Jadin for Nancy and features Florentin Jadin, Mathieu Wojtylka, Ivan Labalestra, Amelia Garcia, Sam Hughes himself, Hedgie, Lloyd Clipston, Hal Hewetson, Teo Palfreyman-Gaze and Shinya Furukawa.
