International Women’s Day Skate Jam – Platt Fields & Projekts

Manchester’s women’s skate scene are putting on something special this International Women’s Day.

On Sunday 8th March, the crew at @womens.day.shred.mcr are hosting a community skate jam at Platt Fields Skatepark – a day of skating, hanging out and celebrating the growing women and non-binary skate community in Manchester.

The day runs from 12pm and is designed to be welcoming to all abilities, with free beginner “give it a go” sessions for anyone keen to step on a board for the first time.

There’ll be a skate jam and open skate session, plus plenty happening off the board too. You can expect craft stalls, workshops, a charity bake sale, clothes swap and other bits throughout the day.

Once the daytime jam wraps up, things will continue over at Projekts for an after-party skate session from 4–6pm. And yes – entrance is free.

There’ll also be prizes and goodies up for grabs from a stack of brands and shops including us at NOTE, Blue Flowers, Polar Skate Co., Skateboard Café, Spitfire, Modus, Blast Skates, Stardog and more.

Whether you’re coming to skate, learn, hang out or just support the scene, it should be a proper good day.
