Turnstile x Converse CONS: A Look at the Collab

Baltimore hardcore band Turnstile have partnered with Converse CONS for new collaboration we’re all stoked on, here, at NOTE HQ. This limited edition duo of skate shoes is set to hit the shelves on January 25, 2024, so mark your calendars!

Skating and Hardcore

Hardcore and skating have always had a strong connection and it’s pretty hard these days to find a video on Thrasher that's not been influenced by the genre. This connection is evident in bands like Turnstile, where members are skaters themselves, with Frontman Brendan Yates even saying in interviews both hardcore and skateboarding are rooted in a sense of freedom and individuality.

The band have worked with skate legends Atiba Jefferson, Ty Evans on projects, recruited skaters for music videos including Kader and Zach Allen and also been interviewed by Thrasher while on tour. These guys have been around skating since they were young and now are collaborating with Converse CONS on some satis skate shoes.

Converse x Turnstile Chuck 70 "Blackout"

First up, we have the Chuck 70 "Blackout", named after Turnstile’s song “BLACKOUT”. This 12 oz cotton chuck features a mostly black upper mirroring the artwork from “The Love Connection” tour and a translucent sole featuring the “Glow On” album artwork. These beauts also feature the band’s name on a unique license plate, behind the tongue and on the special insoles. A nice twist on the classic black Converse Chuck.

Converse x Turnstile One Star Pro "Only One Star"

Then, there’s the One Star Pro "Only One Star", drawing inspiration from the lyric “Can’t Be The Only One” from the song “Alien Love Call”. Crafted in white leather with a pink glitter multi-star logo, this silhouette blends skateboarding functionality with some very choice aesthetics. These two feature Turnstile flourishes on the tongue, the license plate and the insole but also come with three set laces (yes three – including more glitter) and a translucent sole featuring more album artwork.

NOTE's Take

It's safe to say, whether you’re a Turnstile Mega-fan known for queuing outside the local record shop for an autograph or just a converse connoisseur, this collab is definitely worth a gander.

If your interest has already been piqued, these doozies will be available to purchase at midnight tonight (00:00 GMT 25 Jan).

Bookmark these pages in preparation and take a look at some tasteful images of the upcoming launch.
