Shop now for Royal skateboard trucks and skate clothing. Royal Trucks was founded in 1999 under the leadership of Girl Skateboards alumni Rudy Johnson and Guy Mariano, under the Crailtap Distribution umbrella which also takes care of companies Girl and Chocolate Skateboards, Fourstar apparel and Lakai Limited Footwear. They sponsor a legendary team including Mike Carroll, Daryl Angel and Jerry Hsu.
Royal Trucks is part of the Girl Skateboards family. Over the years Girl have produced some of the most acclaimed and oft-cited skate videos, under the cinematographic branch of their enterprise, Girl Films. These include Goldfish (1994), Mouse (1996), Yeah Right (2003) and Pretty Sweet (2013). Girl’s video output has tended to benefit from collaboration with film director Spike Jonze and pioneering skateboard videographer Ty Evans (who worked on many projects with the two teams up until his departure from Girl Films in 2013). Royal Trucks team riders have been involved in many of these projects, as many of the truck brand’s team have been selected from the extended Girl Skateboards Family.
Royal Trucks have released numerous signature pro model trucks over the years. Most recently they have released signature models for their more junior generation of pros, and recently celebrated the release of their Icon Series with a corresponding edit filmed at the Crailtap park featuring the likes of Wes Kremer, Daryl Angel and Mike Mo Capaldi. In 2012 an almost complete squad of Royal riders took to the Berrics to produce a ‘United Nations’ edit, featuring many of the companies heavy weights including Justin Eldridge, Jose Rojo and Guy Mariano himself.
