Always Do What You Should Do is a new addition to the NOTE roster.
Conceived by New Zealander Nick Mason, ADWYSD represents London and Mount Maunganui and merges skate and surf influences evoking a sense of nostalgia and connection to our history. While Always has shaken up the industry with their DIY and off-the-cuff drops, they have maintained a pretty authentic approach to skate wear focusing on heartfelt messages sometimes amiss from other brands, putting out footage (both skate and surf) and collaborating with entities which resonate with modern skating.
Always Do What You Should Do has been on our radar for a while and we’re stoked to have them in the shop. Here's a bit background on the brand and why we're stocking them.
In the era when the likes of Rip Curl, Billabong, and Quicksilver ruled surf culture, growing up amidst their zenith in the early-2000s, Mason infused Always Do What You Should Do with the same laid back vibe that defined that time. Over recent years, Always has experienced a meteoric rise. So while they have roots based firmly in London they have now created a community that’s global.
Evolving from a humble series of screen-printed tees to partnerships with adidas and Noah, ADWYSD has not only made waves in the skateboarding world but has extended this hype to the fashion industry as whole. Their reach has also extended to music too, working with NTS radio and Loyle Carner on separate collections. There's not much this brand can’t do by the sounds of it.
The brand’s unofficial slogan is “Tell your friends you love them”, that should tell you everything you need to know about their “glass half full” approach and why we’re stocking them.
This first drop of ADWYSD (Range #4) at NOTE Skate Shop is their usual assortment of bold hues, even bolder prints on pretty useful outerwear and cotton jersey that is built like a house – strong and sturdy. This collection also features some choice headwear in the form of beanies, truckers and 5 panels and shirtage fit for warm afternoons and brisk evenings. All in all it’s another banger of drop from the brand and it’s now available here, at NOTE. Have at it…

]]>Exciting times ahead for skaters and dunk-heads alike, as we’ve got another humdinger of a shoe on the way - the Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Dunk Low. This unique colourway pays homage to Rayssa Leal, the Brazilian skateboarding sensation, child prodigy and April pro. Garbed in an eye-catching mix of Pure Platinum, Deep Royal Blue, Vivid Purple, White, and Gum, these skate shoes are yet another milestone in the career of the 16 year old skater who has already left a lasting mark on the skateboarding world.
Since capturing the world's attention with a viral video heelflipping a three stair while donned in a fairy princess costume at 7 years old, Leal has continued to inspire with her style and skateboarding talent. Her journey from internet sensation to Olympic silver medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Games is pretty damn phenomenal. April Skateboards pro Rayssa Leal has time and time again dropped hammers on the SLS circuit while simultaneously killing it in the streets. April is definitely the home of skaters able to flip between competition and core street skating.
The Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Dunk Low is also a doozy of a skate shoe which is worth a look whether you’re planning to take ‘em round the the Arndale or battle the hip at Gooseside. The design, featuring Leal's logo and smiley face charms on the lace dubraes (shoelace tags to the layperson), is vibrant and unique – fitting for the young skater. This fresh design brings a hefty dose of comfort with its plush tongue and robust laces, while wrapped in a pristine white leather base with monogram accents across the sides. The swooshes carry a splash of colour, contrasting dark blue on one side and a bold Vivid Purple on the other, against the luxe tan overlays that add depth and an embossed texture to every part of the shoe. On paper it sounds like there’s a lot going on but these skate shoes are clean with a jaunty colour palette.
Set to release at 08:00 (GMT) Tuesday, 19th March 2024, on our Nike SB brand page, the Nike SB Rayssa Leal Dunk Low Premium Shoes in Pure Platinum/Deep Royal Blue is yet another mega launch this year from Nike SB. So mark your calendars, bookmark the Nike SB brand page and enjoy a first look at the shoes on hand.

Does that sound like a bunch of marketing mumbo jumbo? Yes. Are the shoes still very very good? Also yes.
Reimagined for skateboarding, the One Star Pro retains the classic contours of its original design while incorporating Quartersnacks' signature art and stylistic elements with its supple teasel suede upper. Its design, adorned with custom Quartersnacks art, nods to the audacious style of snake-skin accents and athletic graphics that dominated the 90s. Adorned with thick laces, snake-skin accents, sporty graphics, and Quartersnacks' distinctive credo, the Quartersnacks One Star Pro is a tribute to a legendary time.
Peruse the collection, have a gander at the lookbook and try to decide which colourway you prefer best.

Mike Arnold making dreams come true in this amazing new part for Adidas. Mike's signature approach mixed with legendary manny don Daewon Song is something to behold.
]]>The shoe started as a Vans Skateboarding x Palace collab back in 2023, with the jokes office-inspired video and campaign. Now, Rory Milanes and Danny Brady are back at it, bringing us the Safe Low's latest iteration and they’ve made some pretty satis skate shoes to put it simply.
Available in two colorways—Rory's crisp all white leather and Danny's sky-blue—the Safe Low sports custom artwork with Rory’s shoe featuring art from his mate and Palace artist, John Knight. From Ghillie laces to a snug sock bootie, these are chock-full of impressive details too.
And if you really want to wear “safe” as badge of honour or want to take a vow of silence and let your clothing do the talking, Vans have also made a “Safe” tee for the launch. Perfect, right.

]]>Alrighty then, hold onto your decks, 'cause we’re about to drop an absolute doozy of a Nike SB dunk pack into the ether. This time it’s a love letter to the streets of Paris – the Dunk Low "City of Love" pack. Yes… we may have missed the well-celebrated day of Saint Valentine due to some tom-foolery over the Atlantic ocean but they're here and well worth your whole-hearted attention. Let's delve into each shoe and find our why they’re pretty NOTEworthy…
First off, let's swoon over the "Burgundy Crush". The Nike SB Dunk Low Premium Shoes in Burgundy Crush/Dark Team Red-Earth features a rich, wine-inspired hue that's as deep as a Parisian night. These skate shoes are crafted with a mix of nubuck, cracked and tumbled leather and also sport a tasteful speckled burgundy outsole. These are giving off that certain je ne sais quoi we all get misty eyed over.
Now, over to the "Coconut Milk" – the lighter, dreamier side of the pack. With a softer palette of Coconut Milk/Light Bone-Phantom-University Red-Sail, these shoes embody the light and serene aspects of Parisian life (if that really exists), paying homage to Parisian mornings. Like their counterpart these feature a mix of nubuck, suede leather and some white satin.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Premium from the City of Love pack draws its inspiration from the enchanting Red Thread of Fate, a mythological motif symbolising destiny's bind between people, regardless of place or time. This concept is intricately woven into the design through thoughtful details, such as the distinctive red cupsole stitching and the painterly illustration throughout the shoes, showcasing a profound connection to the folklore.
Anyway, that’s enough intellectualism regarding a pair of dunks for one day. We’re big fans of this set as the hues and minimalist and tonal design make them a pretty appealing pair of skate shoes to look at. The Nike SB Coconut Milk Dunk and the Nike SB Burgundy Crush Dunk will be available to purchase at 8am (GMT) on Thursday 29th February. Bookmark the pages, set your alarms, and get ready for the launch of the Nike SB Dunk Low "City of Love" pack.
*One pair per colour per customer allowed.
