The Quiet Life
Buy The Quiet Life t-shirts, crew necks, zip up hoods, five panel caps and bucket hats. The Quiet Life make quality garments and headwear, and according to it’s creator Andy Mueller, is a project that has been on and off since 1997. The brand is a project from Los Angeles that is run by Mueller along with Jennifer Pitt and Anthony Garcia. Mueller, a designer and photographer, started the brand from within his studio OhioGirl Design.
The Quiet Life founder Andy Mueller is a true multi-tasker, who alongside operating the apparel brand holds down a full time job at Girl Skateboards as a member of the infamous “Art Dump”, the art and design team responsible for all of the graphical output of the Girl family’s roster of brands. His main duty is as the art director of shoe brand Lakai, but he also shoots photos for Fourstar and contributes elsewhere where time allows. Somehow he finds the time to work on his true love, the unique garments and hats he designs for The Quiet Life.
Muller was raised in the mid-west on a healthy diet of BMX, skateboarding, music and magazines, and these varied but relateable cultural references all play a part in informing the design sensibilities of The Quiet Life. At a young age Andy became addicted to the art of image making and photo taking, forming a small design, photography and film studio under the name OhioGirl design in 1993. The artistic and photographic influence in his apparel design is clear to this day, from the innovative patterns and fabrics The Quiet Life choose to include in its range to the inclusion of photo print T shirts which involve collaboration with noted photographers.
