Habitat

Buy Habitat skateboard decks, wheels, t-shirts, hoodies and beanies. Founded in 2000, Habitat Skateboards is the sister company of Alien Workshop skateboards. Habitat promotes more of an Earthy vibe than Alien and has introduced several Eco-friendly products over the years including bamboo, hemp & cork ply decks, the use of water based glue, ink & clear coats, plus a line of organic apparel.

The company was kick-started by Joe Castrucci, long-serving staff videographer of the Alien Workshop team and the man responsible for the now classic year 2000 Alien Workshop video ‘Photosynthesis’, which also served as the vehicle for a heavy hitting introductory montage celebrating Habitat’s inauguration. Many of the original line up have remained loyal to the brand and ride for Habitat to this day, including Fred Gall, Kerry Getz and Danny Garcia.

Habitat Skateboard decks incorporate various innovative design technologies into some of their boards, including Skylite Construction and Corrugated technology. Skylite uses 5-ply lamination which allows for an overall lighter weight skate deck without jeopardizing strength. The reduced weight makes this type of deck ideal for street skaters. They also employ a corrugated bottom ply that provides less friction during slides.

Habitat has released numerous classic skate videos including Mosaic, Origin and Inhabitants, as well as the UK tour video Regal Road. The team assembled by Castrucci has come to be deemed one of the most elite skateboard teams in the world, and currently boasts the talents of the absolutely unstoppable Mark Suciu, laid back gnar-merchant Guru Khalsa and the Florida-born New York resident Brian Delatorre alongside established pros including Silas Baxter-Neal and Stefan Janoski.
